They’re everywhere! Lichens of all shapes, sizes and colors can be found on trees and rocks, fences and buildings, on metal, on glass. They exist in some of the harshest environments on earth, from arid deserts to the frigid arctic tundra. They’re so tough, they were used to study the extreme environment of outer space.
