Poet Laureate Committee of Ukiah: a call for nominations

It is time to nominate a new Poet Laureate of Ukiah for the 2009-2011 Term.
Any adult who lives within the Ukiah Unified School District and is an active poet whose own poetry has been published may apply or be nominated.

Prospective Poets Laureate will be evaluated based on the demonstrated skill of their craft, their publishing credits, experience presenting poetry in public and their community work.

Nominations may be sent to The Poet Laureate Committee at P O Box 865, Ukiah CA 95482,
The Committee will screen the nominees and invite the most qualified for an interview and then recommend a new Poet Laureate for the approval of the Ukiah City Council.

Deadline for nominations is February 14, 2009 and must be postmarked no later than that date.

We Connect highlights programs such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit (CTC, Golden State Advantage Cards, Lifeline Telephone Service, CARE for lower cost gas and electricity, California's Low-Cost Auto Insurance and College Savings Accounts. These programs and services are available to working families and have not been fully utilized. Over a billion dollars sits unused.
