Featured Quilt of the Month at the Ukiah Library

Mendocino Quilt Artists
Featured Quilt of the Month
A SUNBEAM, A SUNBEAM
by Joyce Paterson

This traditional quilt pattern is named Sunbeam. When I was growing up, my family attended The Salvation Army. They had groups just like the Brownies, called Sunbeams. There was even a song that we sang that went like this;

A sunbeam, a sunbeam. Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.
A sunbeam, a sunbeam. I'll be a sunbeam for him.

When your personal history dovetails with a historical quilt block, it is kind of wonderful.
